Listening: Field, Voice and Body

A Geohumanities (Royal Holloway University) project funded by Techne (Conflux Grant) in collaboration with University of the Arts, London. This experimental summer school brought together scholars and students interested in practices of sensing, attunement, listening and performance. Across fields such as Geography, Urbanism, Sound Arts and Poetry, the week-long exchange involved collaborating with Angus Carlyle and Sasha Engelmann on repurposing surveillance tactics, stealth techniques and remote communications.

Listening: Field, Voice and Body took place between 8-12 July, 2019 under the shadow of GCHQ Bude, Cornwall, a UK government satellite ground station and eavesdropping centre.
